Warpath

Don't know what it is this week, but I've been on the warpath with everything. Now I know I could be known as being slightly volatile anyway (can't really see it myself though), but everything this week has sent me into a rant. Lucky B's been in a similar frame of mine so we've been kind of bouncing off each other. I think what kicked it all off was that someone at work who i really dislike (so much so I don't even have to use a name cos I will know) said something to B along the lines of "oh I told x that if I was off work (with a piddling little cold!!) that you and Lisa would do it. B went ballistic at her and explained that I'm already covering for someone as well as doing my own stuff so she's trying to pick of some of mine as well as her own. Anyways it probably makes no sense to anyone apart from me and B (who doesn't read this), but that's the reason for my black mood. Downside is that, although I don't mind being angry/grumpy/snippy/stroppy etc etc, sometimes when I'm really mad like this I start to get a bit paranoid, which isn't v. pleasant.
On an upside, the monstrosity which was once my hall carpet is no more. I cut it all up and put it in black bags on Wed night. Must must must get hall finished over the weekend as decorator coming on Monday.
Going to make a cake tomorrow cos cake smell always cheers me up (not like that horrible fake stuff in the supermarkets which just makes me feel sick). Better not eat it though cos far too fat as it is.
Not much else to report apart from I happened across a pic of Paulo Nutini earlier - you just would wouldn't you!
Ugh, just noticed one of the bulbs in here has gone; if I don't change a bulb soon I won't have any light left.
Oh and my GM on WoW told me that lvl 17 and a soldier in a guild isn't bad for someone that's only been playing their first char for 2 weeks :D:D:D
Ok, that's all for tonight unless I think of anything else to say later.

p.s. red text is to match my mood ;)

Obligatory Update

Friday night was really great (although I realised about 20 mins before I was due to get picked up that the skirt and top I had been planning to wear didn't go with each other - I know I should have checked beforehand, but no-one ever does do they).
Was so tired for the rest of the weekend though - really can't wait until crimbo to get some time off - feel at the moment my weekends are a total waste cos spend them exhausted.
Have nearly finished the hall - what a nightmare that's been - how can such a small area have 9 doors in it. Doesn't help matters that the stupid people who lived here before me wallpapered then put on new skirtings/doorframes/coving on top of the paper!!!
Decorator is coming a week tomorrow so need to go to B&Q on Wednesday night to see if they have any paper I like (if not I'll go to Homebase on Thursday). Need to lift the carpet after I've finished the stripping next weekend too - god it's at times like this that I wish I wasn't single!
Anyways really tired tonight still so going to read for a couple of hours til it's time for sleep.
ttfn
p.s. only 25xp from 15 - weeeeeeeeeeeeee (although I did attempt an instance on my own and got mega zapped - won't be doing that again).

Bad Bad Blogger

yup that's me - I've been completely useless lately cos neck was so sore last week and been so busy at work this week - luckily neck is well on the way to being better now. I haven't even had the chance to take a wander around my fave blogs, so will be doing that tonight (along with just generally chilling).
Off out to a party night tomorrow. Can't decide what to wear though - for someone who doesn't go out much these days I still seem to have a plethora (i do love that word) of party outfits in my wardrobe. Really looking forward to it - will report on any tasty men on Saturday (hahaha fat bloody chance of that happening round about here!!).
Anyways ttfn - have other pressing things to do (and would really like to get another level on WoW).
xoxo

Ribbon for Men

Well better late than never I suppose - just been so so busy with work this week. Here's my card for this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge. It was a card I did for a friend who celebrated his birthday on Halloween (hence the colour scheme).

Pain in the Neck

OMG I don't know what I've done, but can't move my head without seeing stars. Think I have a trapped nerve or done something to a muscle. Caused a major moment of self pity this morning, but getting over it now.

Heating finally broke over the weekend - could kick myself cos I knew it was acting up but didn't bother doing anything about it (I seem to have a permanent "leave it alone and it'll sort itself out attitude to things like this - why oh why do I never learn!!). E-mailed Scottish Power to come and fix it, as I hate speaking to halfwits on the phone and always end up losing it.

Nothing much else to report - after having such a nice time on Friday, the rest of the weekend was pretty flat.
On a sad note, M's little puppy, Angel, didn't recover from the infection she had and died yesterday :(. Also read today that Desert Orchid died. I don't think I'll ever get another pet cos I just get too attached.
Photoshop tonight, but can't be arsed going cos my neck hurts too much. It will be worth it if I can learn to make myself look perfect though ;)

¿Hablas EspaƱol?

Here's my first card for this week's Daring Cardmakers dare. Being crap at languages I opted for Spanish cos it was the only one I could do without having to look up the words. This is actuallly the second version as the first versoin had a Santa on it and I realised once it was finished that the 3 wise men bring the pressies in Spain.
Strangely enough I couldn't find a wise man at short notice (lol story of my life!!!!!)

Tra-la-la-la-la

Went to see Flaming Lips with N on Friday night - enjoyed myself so much :D:D. We left before the end cos N had a party to go to. I could've stayed on my own but I was worried I would feel a bit twonkish (you know me - love company at things). Would love to have a photo to post here, but idiot that I am, I forgot to take my camera.
Saturday I just slobbed about in jammies all day and did absolutely nothing - ended up going to bed before 1, which is why I'm up so bright and early on a Sunday morning.
G should finally bring the steamer up today, so hopefully the hall will be all stripped and carpet lifted by the end of tonight (that means I will be able to forget about it til the decorator comes in a couple of weeks).
Going now before I bore you all.

Thursday Thrills

Made this necklace for a colleague last night (used Swarovski crystal golden shadow seashell & 6mm bicones & 4mm silk bicones, along with 2mm sterling silver beads). Really enjoyed making it and have a good idea for a new one for myself too (will use the money I get for this one for the stuff for mine).
Really glad it's the weekend tomorrow, although it's been a pretty quick week. Deffo going to Flaming Lips - apparently they put on a great show, so looking forward to that bigstyle.
Ordered WoW today (knowing my luck it won't come until after the weekend though).
That's about it for tonight - going to attempt to have a productive evening (once I've watched the news and had a nice long bath of course).
TTFN xoxo
p.s.
  • Saw this question on the news - Would you say someone else was driving if you got got on a speed camera?
  • LB answer - If they would admit to it, damn sure I would (although as of a couple of months ago I do have a clean driving licence - so glad the one from Edinburgh in the summer didn't come through!!)

Who is...

…this bad tempered person who has taken over my body today and how low will they stay there? Ok, I know I’m probably considered to be slightly volatile even on a good day, but today has just been one long rant for me. I think I have been possessed by Kevin the Teenager. Absolutely anything and everything is seriously pissing me off today.

I really must get myself in order over the next couple of months. Right now I hardly ever go out anymore cos I’m not happy with the way I look (shallow and vain I know, but at least I don’t care how other people look), so firstly I need to do something about that (just wish I could find an overnight solution). Then I need to persuade like-minded peoples to join me in nights of revelry.

Anyways, enough self-pitying crap – absolutely adamant I’m not going to turn into one of those whiny ‘poor me’ people, cos actually my life is really fucking great and I love being me. I do realise things/people can’t be perfect all the time, but think sometimes I have high expectations and a slightly overactive imagination (but there again would much rather have an overactive one that have none at all!!).

Who knows – next year I may even decide to compromise now and again – haha dream on folks!!!
Oh, and since I hardly ever post pics of myself, here's me looking far too happy at work today:

Number 1 in my new list of things you do even though you know it's not quite right somehow: Dipping a fun size Snickers into your mug of hot orange - not quite the same as dipping it into tea somehow.

Remember, remember

Went to the firework display in Callendar Park with C & A, who kindly fed me before we walked up - first Sunday dinner if had in ages.

Fireworks were lovely - always just a normal firework display for bonfire night, not a sound and light thing like they do for Big in Falkirk, although they did have music playing too.

Here's a couple of photos I took - omg you've got to be quick to take photos of fireworks if you're not a great photographer.

Friday Fireworks

Ok, ok - I know bonfire night isn't until Sunday, but the title sounded nice. Had to work a bit late tonight, but knew about it earlier in the week so wasn't too fussed.

Still having trouble with the heating - will need to call about it if it hasn't sorted itself out over the weekend. Not doing much this weekend - might have M's kids for an afternoon (or one of them) as she has an essay to do, but they are great fun and like making stuff so it'll be nice if I do.
Still need to organise someone to go to firework display on Sunday - will ask C tomorrow as she likes fireworks.

Next Friday I'm hoping to go see
The Flaming Lips (as long as I can still get a ticket and N doesn't mind me tagging along.
G was meant to drop a stripper round today but she didn't and is working all weekend (although she might still drop it round first thing in the morning I suppose).
Off to read my book in a nice long hot bath soon, and may partake in a couple of glasses of vino before bedtime.

Tuesday tittle-tattle

Good evening little bloggy peoples, hope this post finds you all well. Lots of things to report since my last posting.

Firstly autumn is definitely here – I’m missing summer already and trying to decide where to go on hols next year (and who to persuade to go with me). Finally got heating to come on (sort of, but don’t really know what I did – all rooms in flat cosy and toasty though so can’t complain).

Went to SECC with L, N & R on Sunday – we had an absolute ball (it was a pity T couldn’t make it this time though). I did almost lose my debit card, but luckily I had left it in the machine thingy when I bought a ticket (then scampered off to grab a can of irn bru which was a total rip off). Apparently they called us on the tannoy & stuff, but I must’ve been so busy getting my e-number fix I didn’t notice. Luckily about 3 hours later I noticed that my purse was open and my card wasn’t in it, so went back to the desk to recover it. Got some nice crafty stuff (see photo below), which can hopefully be put to use on the long dark winter nights.
Work’s been really good so far this week, although complete bedlam – don’t know what I’m doing half the time.

Photoshop class was last night – I had spend 7 hours at work on one document, so that coupled with 3 hours of digital editing did mean my eyes were pretty tired by the time I got home. Was really, really pleased with some of my images though; I was working on photos I took in Palma (which I realise I still haven’t posted here yet) and seriously considering getting a couple of them put onto canvas.

Finally did some food shopping today – went to Morrisons for a change – was really impressed – had a great selection and made a change from the normal Asda or (dreaded) Tesco routine. Got some yummy olives stuffed with lemon, monkey nuts since it’s Halloween and mint Matchmakers because they’re nice, so sort of got a sore belly from eating so much. In a similar vein I got a cracking little cookbook on Friday – lots of really nice stuff in it, so will need to organise some dinners in the next couple of months.

Finally went to see C on Saturday – her wedding photos were great and they’re settling in to the new house really well. She invited me to The Witchery on 23rd Dec, should be a fab night (and by a strange coincidence I’m off to Rhubarb at Prestonfield House the weekend before.(luckily the menus are quite different as they’re owned by the same people).

Spanish class tonight, so off to attempt to cram a week’s work into half an hour.

Dare 2 - Use the Kitchen

I've used the kitchen i 2 separate ways for this dare (certainly wasn't for cooking though as haven't been food shopping yet - will deffo today or tomorrow though!)

This card is made by sticking split peas onto a Quicktutz tree then dusting with spring green Pearlex powder. The background paper is American Traditional Designs - Dear Santa. (as usual my photo is pretty crap, so I'll try to do a scan on Monday)

This card is made with Fimo embellishments (which required me to use the oven to bake them) Tags are cut from Making Memories Cosmopolitan and the font is GAW.

Feelgood Friday

Wooohoooo – the weekend is finally here – is it only me who feels this has been a long long week. Things for me still going great – probably the happiest I’ve been in quite a while – my reflection period is doing me the world of good.

Meeting with L, N & R on Sunday – sure we’ll have fun (cos we always do).

I really must put some effort into stripping the hall this weekend – I know you regular readers will be thinking “she can’t still be doing that, it’s been going on for months now”, but it is amazing how quickly I seem to be able to become accustomed to the squat-look (just ask anyone who saw the paint splodges in my living room for most of last year!!).

Apart from that I think all I’ll be doing is general catching up with my friends. Need to see Mum & G at some point too.

Oh and found a voucher for M&S in my brown bag earlier in the week (hadn’t used the bag since last winter) so Percy Pig heaven here I come…

The only slightly frustrating thing at the moment is that I don’t know how to work my heating (even though I’ve lived here for almost 8 years), so it’s just sort of pot luck messing around with the timer – perhaps I’ll get it tomorrow.

Totally Tuesday

Finally seem to be able to load photos to blogger again, so will get some of my holiday ones up over the next couple of days (don't bother holding your breath unless you're into buildings/statues/sea though!!). Over the weekend I didn't do much, but sort of did lots of little things if you know what I mean.
On Sunday went with M, H & O to see The Devil Wears Prada. N - much as it pains me to admit it, you were 100% correct - it was totally rubbish (would give it 3/10 at a push, but perhaps that's because I'm in a particularly generous mood today).
Really looking forward to meeting L, N & R at the weekend - must remember to get in touch with T too, to find out if she's feeling up to it.
Got nice short cord knickerbocker things yesterday - v. Little Lord Faulteroy - all I need to go with them now is the trilby I've been coveting (and someplace to go!!).
Actually thinking about places to go, it's not long until Bonfire Night - must get something sorted cos I adore fireworks so much.
Oh, and if you know me in real life, you may actually get a christmas card from me this year as I've sort of started making them (again, probably safer not to start holding your breath quite yet!). Must must must rem to do M's b/day card.
Have decided I'd really like one of those pen & tablet thingys you use for Photoshop, so off to scan Ebay - any recommendations appreciated.

The first dare

This my first attempt at the first dare on the brand new Daring Cardmakers blog.

Not particularly pleased with the result - it looks very simple compared to all the other entries (although I do tend to opt for bold/simple most of the time).

The lilac spotty paper is Making Memories, the font is Curly Girlie.

Almost There

Well, it's been a chaotic week workwise, but a good one I suppose - I'd be bored stiff if it wasn't hectic.
On Tuesday I went to see Volver - it was excellent; Penelope Cruz is so much better as an actress when she's speaking in her native tongue. God would I kill to look like instead of like me too. It was at the Town Hall and they had this cracking Taxi Driver poster, as it is showing on Monday. I've asked if I can get it once they're finished with it - so fingers crossed cos it would look really good in my hall.
Tonight I'm off to a Christmas dinner & party although hopefully will manage to bail about 21:00. Got some stuff I'd like to work on when I get home, all in ancipation of something I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Hopefully it will give me the kick up the arse I've been needing lately.
No plans for the weekend :( apart from trying to see The Devil Wears Prada.
Sorry it's a bit short and not particularly sweet tonight, but in a bit of a rush.
Oh, and I want to learn to play guitar.

Lots of little things

Come together to make me feel happy :)
Nothing major, nothing gobsmackingly exciting, but you know just when things seem to be going right for you.
M came round on Saturday afternoon - I helped her with her presentation, we ate scones with jam & clotted cream and we've arranged to see The Devil Wears Prada next weekend (we were going to go on Sat night, but M said H wanted to see it as well, but her and O were at their Dad's for the weekend and it seemed too cruel to go without her).
Sat night I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before The Omen came on. It was enjoyable - a bit strange but good. Johnny Depp looked rather bizarre, but still tasty.
Sunday went into town with Mum and G. Had a nice shopping day - got everyday boots which are so so comfy and G got a nice green coat (which just may be getting borrowed from time to time).
I also managed (finally!!!!) to get new bedding - I mean it's only been February since I decorated my bedroom. Now all I need is spare bedding, curtains and a lightshade - didn't bother me too much in the summer cos it was light really early and didn't get dark til really late, but now it is a bit embarrassing when I have to put the light on in the morning and all I have is a bare bulb hanging from the ceiling and no curtains.
Made a start on cutting out bits for crimbo cards - still not got a finished one yet though. Quite busy this week as had college tonight, going to a Spanish movie tomorrow, have a pre Christmas freebie bash on Thursday.
Still got loads of things I need to do before the end of the year, but all in all things are looking promising :D:D

That Friday Feeling!!!

You know the one - you're completely shattered, get home from work early and all you really want to do is go to bed and stay there til morning.
Going to have a lovely relaxing time this weekend. Want to spend some time catching up with Mum, C, and M. Also want to spend some time working on ideas for new cards and stuff. Got Charlie & the Chocolate Factory to watch tomorrow night between X Factor andThe Omen (and stuff to make a nice dinner from M&S - in fact already had 4 Percy Pigs!!). Sure I'll manage to find some time for reading in nice long baths as well.
Bumped into DMcN at lunchtime - is weird cos I have barely seen him since we left school then I bump into him twice in the last couple of months. Was good to see him (although isn't it always nice to see your old school chums). Unfortunately I was on lunchbreak so didn't have time to catch up.
Traffic going back to work was terrible - it ended up taking me half an hour to travel 3 miles - stupid temporary traffic lights at the roadworks were only working in one direction, resulting in total gridlock!!!
That's about it for now really I think, but I'll try to actually make something and see if I can get my photos to show on silly blogger.
TTFN xoxo
p.s. Kathy, you know I'll thinking about you over the next couple of days (and thanks for your kind words). You know where I am if you want someone to speak to. xo

Not forgotten

... about you little blog - just seem to have not enough hours in the day and been really tired - too tired to write really.

Anyways if anyone reads this just to let you know I will start posting again at the weekend - because of some really bad times in the past this is always when I do my reflections/resolutions/ambitions, so got a list as long as my arm to write about all the things I want to do in the next 12 months, both at home and at work.
Catchya soon.

Lazy Days

Plans for today got changed last night - not now going to Edinburgh til tomorrow so have basically faffed around doing nothing - was going to get dressed a few minutes ago then I realised it was 17:00 so hardly worth it. Will just wait til about 20:00 now.
Stupid blogger won't add photos to my posts for some reason - it seems to upload them ok, but they just don't show, which has made me mad cos I wanted to post some of my holiday ones.
Not much else to report - getting hair done on Tuesday - can't wait. Saw a couple of nice tops for the autumn weather, but should really wait until car has had MOT on Thu as don't get paid for another couple of weeks.
I'm determined tonight to make some cards and stuff - but I just never seem to get round to it - really having problems getting to grips with the dark nights.

Tales of my travels & being back home

Got back on Sunday, but finding it difficult to get back in the swing of things so not been in the mood for writing here. Holiday was lovely and relaxing. Weather was mostly good although we had a few iffy days - also saw a couple of spectacular thunder storms.

Don't think I'd rush back to the resort as it was a sprawling and characterless, but the old town of Alcudia was really nice.

Did an island tour one day, which started off with a bus ride to Palma, which is absolutely gorgeous. After that we went on the old wooden lemon train and then got a tram to Soller. Went out on a boat round the bay, but couldn't go further as it was too stormy. Then the bus went up over the mountains and on the way back down I saw a baby donkey!!!!! That's me achieved one of my lifetime ambitions.

Went on another boat trip to Formentor - a bit of a disappointment - scenery not the most interesting - after you've seen cliffs for 20 mins, the next hour seems a bit repetitive. Formentor was a bit of a disappointment too - a really pretty bay but there didn't seem to be much there apart from an overpriced cafe.

Got a pretty good tan - the Germans have to be up early to beat me to the beach, although I did make friends with the German men who used to have the sunbeds next to me - taught them English for sunbed and some other English words and swapped some good stories with them (although I don't speak any German). Unfortunately since I got home tan is fading fast.

Went back to work on Tuesday - was eventful - went to conference for some lunch and one of the waitresses got stung and went into anaphylactic (sp?) shock - was really frightening - luckily some of our guys knew how to deal with it and helped her until the paramedics got there. A brought B and me back lovely Ghost perfume from his hols - it smells yummy - can't wait to go somewhere now to wear it.

Yesterday afternoon I went to the crane opening ceremony. Went really well - I bet there's not many people who can say they've seen fireworks on a crane in broad daylight - was remarkably effective though. Was so tired last night as it was a long day - couldn't even stay up past 22:00, which is mega early for me.
Weekend already tomorrow - think I'm meeting Miss JP in Ed on Saturday. Really looking forward to next weekend too.

I'll hopefully return nice and brown with lots of tales to tell.

No Space but lots of Oddity

Well, I wasn't up in space, but odd things in abundance today.

Firstly I ate a Japanese chocolate this morning - "that's not not odd Lisa" you'd think, but it was. It had this thick sort of flavourless jelly stuff round it dusted with cocoa and some not very sweet chocolate in the middle. Wouldn't rush to eat another one - give me a peanut butter kitkat or toffee crisp any day.

Secondly I was driving into town at lunchtime to see if the Superdrug there had something I wanted but the one round from work didn't (it was a completely wasted journey) and a saw a motorcycle with a sidecar, which in itself isn't an every occurrance round here. Even more peculiar was that in the sidecar was sitting A DOG!!!!! and he wasn't even wearing a helmet. Actually it made me smile so much. I now have a new ambition - to have a dog in a sidecar.

Then when I was in town I am sure I saw the girl who used to cut my hair when I used to go to Vidal Sassoon in Glasgow - she walked out suddenly the day before my last appointment there and I ended up with one of the worst cuts I've ever had in my life. I will need to find out if she's working though here now (although I really like the way the hairdresser I have now cuts my hair). Didn't want to go up and ask her as it's been over 2 years since she cut my hair and if it wasn't her, it might have freaked her out a bit having some randomer coming up to her in the street.

Got some nice eyeshadows and make-up stuffs today, so the next time you see may I will be nice and metallic and shiny.

I'll post more if anything else happens...

Wednesday waffle

Feeling so much better today - fuzziness has all gone and left with only minor sniffles and cough - whoohoo.

J's 30th tomorrow - made her a card which I'm really happy with (mainly because I like the colours. The background of the card is white (just in case it looks like the tags are sticking over the top of the blue card).

Considering all I did last night was make 2 cards, I have made one hell of a mess - thank goodness I can just shut the door in this room (although will get it cleared before I go away at the weekend).

PS3 not now being released until next year - that's one less temptation for LB!!!

Til later.

Tuesday tales

At the moment I'm sort of living in a fuzzy-headed, open-mouthed blur. I reckon this is how it feels to be a bit thick. At least I'll be back to normal tomorrow with any luck.

Had the most random thoughts though - examply - was sitting at work today at SW's desk looking out the window watching the lorries come in and out and into my head popped "I wonder when the queen will die" Does she resemble a container lorry - perhaps; is it because I saw a bit about that film with Helen Mirren playing the queen - perhaps. Who knows the random thoughts of me.

One good thing - Superdrug just round from work has started selling Barry M make-up - prepare to see me with a different look every day!!!!

Question, little bloggy-type readers - do any of you have WoW - I want it so much and I need many tales of it's greatness.

Where do all the hours go - I've been home from work for 4 hours and all I've managed to do is a couple of cards.

TTFN - off for a cup of hot orange.

All of a flutter

OMG I nearly killed a big falcon/kestral type bird tonight on the way home. It flew really slowly in front of my only about 3 feet above the ground. I was singing at the top of my voice (along to Alanis you'll be pleased to know, Matty) so perhaps my sweet voice seduced it. Got the fright of my life though, cos thus far I've managed not to kill anything on the roads.

Met my new neighbour tonight - he seems ok - he wanted to borrow a screwdriver to put a bulb in the outside light - hehe I'm so used to the lights always being out I barely even notice it.

Still choked with cold - have 3 cards to make tonight and can't decide whether to do them before my bath or have a nap and do them after. I am useless at minor decisions like this.
That's all for tonight - too hideously ugly to write anything more - bad hair/red nose/runny eyes/tingly lips - the stuff of fantasies or what!!

It's all over now

I hate to mention this, but it's now official - Summer is over!!! The cold rainy days, cold rainy nights, cold rainy weekends (are you beginning to see a pattern here?) and dark nights are upon us. I miss summer so much already and it's only been over for 2 days.
So today, apart from feeling a bit lost without the sun and very very cold, I've done nothing much - moved some big stuffs around in the kitchen and cleaned the tops of the cupboards - cause of much snuffles and sneezing for the rest of the day. Now need to find someplace to put some of the surplus stuff - mainly bottles in case I decide to have another cocktail party one day. Might put them in the living room unit if I can find someplace for the games & software that I've shoved in there.
In between doing that I've managed to get 20 or so of my fave cds on mp3 - will probably work through the rest of them in order now.
Not going out tonight cos it's cold and will probably rain again and not really in the mood for drinking!!

The weekend's fast approaching...

... and I have no plans as yet. not really bothered though - may just get a bottle of wine and cook something nice for dinner and watch tv if nothing better comes up.
Work went sooo quickly today even though i ended up being in early and leaving late. B was back from a few days off so it was good to catch up on gossip and have a laugh - I do miss yelling across the corridor when she's not there.
I'm sure something happened today that I wanted to write here, but the braincell's gone awol again.
Really need to get arse in gear and make some cards & jewellery - why do I seem to say this every day yet still never get anything - I can now add Miss JP to my list of people to blame cos now that she's get bb she's my newest MSN buddy - wooohoooooo!!!!!!!!!! One night of it and she is already turning into a total smileywhore - can't imagine who she gets that from.
Anyways little bloggies I'm off to have a nice glass of red and watch Dragon's Den.

Roll On...

...holidays. I'm really beginning to feel like I need a break now. Can't come quick enough.

Bizarrely enough this year I'm actually going to be quite looking forward to coming back home as well...

Got a nightmare last night (I know who I'm blaming on this one!!) but it wasn't too bad and didn't wake me til after 5. At least it wasn't one of those ones where it takes a while to work out if it was real or not.

Somehow I managed to drink a 2 litre bottle of lemonade in 2.5 hours this afternoon. I think someone has been putting rat poison in my food or teabags. So thirsty!!!

That's all for tonight dear little bloggy-type readers cos I just can't be arsed writing any more.
p.s. How gorgeous a song is "in Heaven" I was playing it over again on way home tonight and singing along - it is just so beautiful.

In the Beginning...

...of the week, it was Monday!!
Week got off to an alright start, although been feeling a bit sorry for myself over the last few days as keep feeling like I'm getting a cold (swollen-feeling throat that tastes like old spoons/sore ears etc) but it keeps coming to nothing so should stop soon. Woke up during the night feeling sick but that may have had something to do with me going to sleep with a hoody on and the hood up - I was melting and just felt the blood drain.
Argghhh enough woes - now for the good stuff - cheered myself up with a sunbed at lunchtime (although it will be my last before hols as the tanorexics I know say you should leave a gap before going on holiday as you get a better tan (knowing my luck it will piss it down for a fortnight).
Felt on a total downer last night for some reason (probably throat & ears) but a cracking game of D2 with M cheered me up no end. Nothing like spending a couple of hours bashing the hell out of monsters with your friends for chasing away the blues.
Not a bank holiday here today (well the banks were closed cos they take English holidays but nothing else was so work as usual, though it was pretty quiet re incoming stuff.
Still not finished the hall - it can wait a couple of weeks now, as I have to make 7 cards for the start of next week - flat will be like Blue Peter studio!!!
Got another book today - The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - will tell you readers if it's any good once I've finished it.
Ok that's all now - I know it doesn't seem much good stuff, but I'm such a happy little bunny it doesn't take much to please me.

Brain Dead

OMG been up since really early this morning so thought I'd build myself a website. I used to be really into site building but haven't done anything at all (even updating) in about 3 years ago. My little braincell is soooo rusty. It's fun though, trying to remember how to do stuff.
Apart from being thick, this weekend I've done nothing much - slept loads yesterday (probably though doing nothing-ness). Really wanted to go an see the Pixies movie this lunchtime, but I decided it would be no fun going alone as there would be no one to talk about it with afterwards. So will just wait til it comes out on dvd and see if I can bribe anyone to watch it with me then.
Aiming to make some jewellery this afternoon (although best laid plans and all that). Need to do a couple of wedding cards too.

Aimless Waffling

Not much to say today I'm afraid little bloggy-type readers. Was going to go and see Pixies movie tonight (on my own :(:(), but can't be bothered so will go on Friday or Sunday (although it doesn't start until 22:00 or 22:30, so who knows, I may go tonight after all).

Need to do some CD shuffling as not slotted the ones I've bought recently into their places yet - although everything around me is usually in chaos I do like my CDs ordered.

Just got a night of faffing around tonight I think - do have things to do, but right now I don't feel like doing them - actually might go for a little nap just in case I do decide to go out later.
That's it for today - I promise I'll try and do something a bit more interesting over the next couple of days.

Bouncing Around Dundee

Went up to Dundee today to visit N - R & L were there too - was great to catch up again.
N's kids have a big massive trampoline in the back garden and I had a shot - omfg it was so much fun - I couldn't stop laughing - sure the neighbours must've thought I was some random loony.
Didn't get lost up north until I was in Dundee itself, which is fine cos towns and cities don't stress me - only bloody country roads (Miss JP you'll be pleased to know I didn't get a nosebleed, even when i was going over that bridge with the water under it and the big hill in front [although that did make me a bit queasy feeling - think I may have the reverse of vertigo], but did think I was going to get one on the way home).

Dream Top

Oh, and I've just realised the top would also look great over leggings with my patent pointy knee boots (but only if I'm thin!!)

Cabin Fever

Do you ever get days where you just have to get out the house?? I was demented earlier - woke up at 08:30 and just faffed around this morning doing all the usual boring stuff. Managed to persuade Mum to come to Stirling with me so we faffed around there for an hour or so. Saw the most gorgeous top ever - Mum said I had one like it when I was a teenager, which is odd cos I thought it would go really well with Converse boots and that's what I used to wear. Anyways she said she'd buy it for me if I can get a size smaller - then she had the cheek to ask me if I wanted a sandwich for lunch - promptly replied of course I don't!! I WANT THE TOP!!!!!
Apart from that nothing much - just played the laggiest game of D2 ever with M, was still fun though.
Not going out tonight - my social life really seems to have fizzled out over the summer :(:(

Freaky Friday

Ugh today is horrible - wet, grey, dark and miserable - thank goodness I'm already in my jammies. A perfect night for a long hot bath (with the added temptation of my holiday books - must not read them before I go!!).
Went to Stirling this morning - couldn't get the scarf/belt for G, which is a pity, but I got a couple of bags - one of them I'm thinking about getting another one the same to keep in reserve as it would be perfect for an overnight bag if I'm staying at Miss JP's. Wasn't away long though cos you know how bored I get in the shops. Oh, and I saw a really nice jumper but I refused to buy it since it was only August still
Really need to get my arse in gear over this weekend and do stuff (lmao like drool over Nintendo DS - I'd love one of these with Big Brain Academy).
That's all for today - it's too rainy and ugly to write anything else.

Turbulent Thursday

Well no, actually it wasn't turbulent at all, but I thought I'd make my life sound a little more exciting!!
Work went ok - paid a visit to Tesco in the retail park at lunchtime (just so I could drive now that I have music again) and promtly remembered why I never go there unless it is the middle of the night. OMG the noise of screaming/crying/wailing/screeching/tantruming children just seems to echo around the shop.
First part of this evening was spent at a Big Lottery Fund presentation for the Spanish Group. One form of funding offered seems suitable for us, so hopefully things will get on the go reasonably soon.
Off tomorrow - can't wait - going to go to Primark to see if I can get some nice, cheap accessories for hols/work - still need a beachbag. Plus I got a nice scarf (that's really a belt) the last time I was there and G really liked it so thought I'd get her one.
Have a parcel to pick up from post office too - don't know why I got it sent to the house cos this bead company always send recorded!!! Must be getting old and senile. On jewellery things, I made a necklace last night because I was so bored (M - it's all your fault - I had no one to have a laugh with because you were out partying and no one else is as silly-funny!!)... anyways I wore it to work today and go so many nice comments (B even said she'd like one for J's b/day).

I have decided I need to make a piece of jewellery for myself every week or so, because I make loads for other people and end up with none for me.
Did I say I was off tomorrow????

Wednesday's Wonderful Achievements

Wow, I've achieved so much today and it's not even dinner time:
  1. Holiday is all booked - off to Majorca for a couple of weeks on 10 Sept (actually my input in this was "yup that's fine by me, book it")
  2. Car stereo is now fitted after lying in dining room for about 3 months - actually had v. little input in this either - a lovely guy at work I don't know fitted it at lunch time today for me. Such a good idea asking C yesterday if he could fit car stereos cos he said "no, but B might be able to - I'll send him up tomorrow lunchtime!"
  3. New phones for MP3 player will be on their way soon - it so helps if you remember you cancelled your old debit card when it's newest version went awol in post (esp if it's been ages since you ordered off Amazon but don't want to risk getting fake phones on Ebay).
  4. Managed to last til almost 17:00 without smearing black eye make-up all over my face - quite a feat for me as usually I've rubbed my eyes before 09:00!
  5. Still keeping up my resistance to reading any of the 4 new holiday books I have so far, although not making any promises on this one.

All I need to do now is work out how to get to Dundee - I thought you went to Perth (which I now know how to do after taking the scenic route the last time) and kept going, but F said she reckoned you go over the bridge and keep going. Actually I probably have other stuff to do (like stripping that bloody hall) but maybe the pixies will do it when I'm asleep.

Til tomorrow (or a different day)...

Tuesday Today (even though I keep thinking it's Wednesday)

Well, I was successful in my hunt for an MP3 player last night, which is good, so spend today looking for a set of phones cost the bundled ones will be rubbish. Sods law says I'll have my nice Sennheiser phones for about 4 days before the player arrives, but such is life.
Also ordered some jewellery making stuff this morning, as I need to get back into the swing of making stuff.
Think we have holiday sorted - M is going to book it in morning - looking like I'll be off to Alcudia for 2 weeks on 10 September. Never been there before, but apparently only an hour or so from Palma (I have already decided I want to go to the flea market, which is on Saturdays). Apparently Alcudia has massive (approx 5km I think) beach and nice restaurants so can't really ask for anything more.
That's about it really - off to have a bath with olive oil and salt in it, so will be nice and al dente later (honestly, it's really good for your skin).

When Monday Comes Around

My mission today is to get my filthy paws on an MP3 player for a really good price. Don't want an Ipod (too common) - must be a Creative (better spec).

Apart from that, went to see Rich Hall at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh last night. Mostly the show was good (although there were bits that I didn't find particularly funny) but it was spoilt a bit by a complete moron heckler in the audience who though he was the comedian (words rhyming with banker spring to mind!!).
Got last train home, then had to go to Tesco (as hadn't had any dinner and had far too much caffiene so was feeling a bit sick) for some shopping, so it was after 01:00 when I got home. Couldn't sleep until after 02:30, so was surprised that I wasn't too tired today.

Nothing more to report really - cut some oregano from the garden to put in pasta sauce for dinner tonight, but now not sure if I'm hungry or not.

The Saga Continues

Arrgghhh still no holiday yet and sort of floundering around aimlessly. Costa de la Luz is working out too expensive - £800 each for 2 weeks self catering in September!! I nearly choked when I heard the price, especially as I'm used to booking 2 days or so before I go.
Sort of opted for Ibiza, I wanted to go to Santa Eulalia, M wanted to go to Puerto San Miguel (until I said it was 4 miles up a hill to the nearest bank/atm/chemist!!! Needless to say that was knocked in the head. The only place I can find in the centre of SE is one that M had been to before and didn't like!! So Ibiza may now be out of the question unless something else decent in the centre of SE comes up.
Now thinking about Mallorca - have heard that Cala D'or is very nice, but apparently other bits are really nice too - wouldn't mind being not too far from Palma because it is gorgeous. Really don't fancy Magaluf though.
Also thought about Canaries - even though I find the resorts really bland there - at least weather would be good in September, but when i told M the size of the cockroaches there that was knocked on the head too.
Thought also about one of the smaller resorts on the Costa del Sol. Greece is also an option, but we've quite a tight window we can go in (cos M needs to get back for some stupid show thing she's going to!!), so doesn't seem to be a huge selection coming up.
Guess how I'll be spending all my spare time this weekend???? So much easier going with F - just go in travel agents, say we want to go in next couple of days and have no money - bingo -holiday appears.

Holiday Hunting

Have started to look for a holiday today - still got 4 weeks(ish) to go so no mad rush about it yet (especially since I'm used to booking stuff a couple of days before). Really fancying Costa de la Luz - looks really pretty (and less than 100 miles from Sevilla, which is only #1 on my wishlist of places to go!!).
Hung on late at work tonight - things are definitely getting back to normal again, which is great - would go insane if everything just ticked over like it has been the last couple of weeks.
Food intake extremely good today.
That's about it for today so far I'm afraid - no life changing moments and no scandal witnessed.

Tuesday's Trials & Tribulations

Actually no trials or tribulations at all - maybe should have entitled today's entry 'Tuesday Goes Smoothly'.
Mum's ordered some jewellery from me to wear to A & R's wedding in a few weeks - hope she picks up some orders when she's there - should be a nice wedding as they're having it in the house with a marquee in the garden (and no religion!!). A loved the earrings and pendant I made for her - really glad - she is my best advert. After a few months of not really being into making stuff (probably cos of being so stretched in the run up to crimbo last year) really getting the bug again.
Going to get started on spiders when I get paid because I've already had a few enquiries about them this year.
Did eat far too much because had pasta and a glass of wine for dinner - haven't been great this week so far - must get back on straight and narrow tomorrow - at least I didn't eat the mini toffee crisp that was looking at me.
Off to some comedy thing at the festival on Sunday with Miss JP and L should be good cos not seen J for ages.

This Weekend

Was L's wedding yesterday. She got a really good day for it and she looked amazing. Was a civil ceremony, which I much prefer to a religious one - my mind wanders less. Was good to catch up with a few friends I haven't seen in ages. Only thing is I always find it a bit awkward at weddings as I always seem to be the only single person there.
Have a sort of big bruise-type thing on my foot today, but no one stood on me, so must be old torn ligaments flaring up again cos it's on the foot where I tore them really badly (rofl as opposed to the other foot where I just tore them a bit!!).
Woke up during the night with the beginnings of a cold and spend most of the morning and afternoon with a tissue at my nose and drinking hot lemon, although it seems to have lifted a bit now - hopefully I managed to catch it in time.
Can't believe weekend is almost over - 2 days just isn't long enough. Think I'll take a couple of days off not next week but next again.
Eating this weekend has been really good - didn't eat desert at wedding (although only cos it was really chocolatey and not a big chocolate lover). Did have 6 Percy Pigs though - will cut something out tomorrow to cover it. Really want a beach bod in next 5 weeks, but somehow don't think that'll happen (esp as I'd also like to be 4 inches taller!!).

THE BEST THING ABOUT FRIDAYS...

... is getting away early from work, coming home, grabbing a quick shower to freshen up, then a nice nap. Don't know why I enjoy doing that so much on a Friday - perhaps because I always used to go out on a Thursday night so was shattered when I got home from work.
Today's been really good - not for any particular reason, just been a good, fun day.
L's big day tomrrow - just going to give her pressie to her at the reception, as she only came up on Thursday morning so not had a chance to see her yet.
Can't believe it's another 10 days til payday - will need to watch what I'm doing until then - bought far too many summer clothes this month, but what else could I do when the weather was good.

MID WEEK ALREADY
Today's been a really good day. Only problem is that since it turned cooler at nights I'm back to not sleeping well again (slept like a lamb when it was hot the last few weeks), after feeling groggy yesterday because I went back to sleep, I just got up when I woke this morning. Faffed about a bit and left for work around 07:40.
When I got into the office there was a message in my work inbox that made my day - don't know what it was about it, just one of those things I suppose - so thanks for that S.
B and I went food shopping at lunchtime time and I bumped into Mum, who told me I looked nice. In fact loads of people told me I looked nice today - must've been because I had on my top that makes me look like a ladybird.
Got away at 5 tonight cos S & A were down south. Not done anything since I got home apart from read a bit and had a bath. Have some crystals to stick on stuff tonight.
Got a text from L late last night - she is so excited about getting married on Saturday. I was excited for her too, although I think if it was me getting married I would find it hard to get excited - would prefer something low key (perhaps so low key that I wouldn't even bother!).

I LOVE BEING ME

I've decided I absolutely love being me. I know some things don't quite go according to plan in my life (well most things if I'm being perfectly honest), but who wants their life running to a boring rigid plan - much more fun to take things as they come.

I know my post on Sunday make me sound a total miserable bugger, but it was only done through boredom. In reality I have so many good things going on - the best family & friends in the world (even got the best cyber friends ever!!), a great job which I love, working with great people (none of them even know this blog exists so no chance of them getting big headed).
I've got no regrets, even the stupid stuff that I've done that has made me look at complete idiot. There are really bad things which have happened, and would do anything to change, but unfortunately these have all been out of my control.
Looking forward to going to college on a Monday night starting September to do Photoshop. Got a million other things I'd like to get done before that though...
